So I just had my first 600 mile service Next one at 12 months or 7500 miles Noticed on the official Suzuki schedule that recommended changing spark plugs and then again 2 years after and again every 2 years? Surely plugs are good for 10,000 plus? If I only do 2000 before next service, why would my plugs need changing? Thoughts....

It's because most people don't ride all the time, bikes sit for extended periods of time with out fuel stabil, and you get carbon build up etc. lots of reasons. At the shop i work at, we change plugs on every full service regardless of mileage. That would be the reasoning to change them every 2 years. Hope that helps.
Also i change my oil every 3500 miles or so.

Thanks, yeah I understand oil, it come into contact with all moving parts, it's important, I drop mine every year, bike and car, just thought it was a bit much to swap them out, I'm guessing they won't be cheap either?

If you do the work yourself it won't cost much at all to do the plugs. Pretty sure one or two of the members here have posted videos on how exactly to do it.

Oh yeah , that's not a problem, I'm more than capable , just that to keep fsh stamps I'll be letting the shop do the servicing and it eats me to pay for items that don't need swapping i.e. Spark plugs every two years 😏

Basic maintenance is easy to do. That's one reason i added the "how to" section, i was trying to make it easy for people who wanna save money find the videos alot quicker. Also if you do any mods that have not been posted and make a video be sure to post it.
Also on a side note quick story, we sold one of our first can-am spyders back in 2008 when they came out, to a guy in his 90's. Then after he bought it i rode it to a storage unit for him about 3 miles away. I picked it up every year for a battery and a service/ check over. When i was done he would always pay extra for us to return it. He passed away in 2015 and his family couldn't get it started so i go pick it up. Get it back to the shop they wanted it serviced etc so they could sell it. Total miles 35. It got plugs every year and a oil change because he followed the service manual. I think i put more miles on it than he did. After the family picked it up i have never seen it again. Just goes to show it didn't need plugs but he insisted because it was in the manual.
I won't change mine every 2 years but i generally ride my bike everyday unless it's raining like crazy. Hope that helps, and hope you enjoyed the story.
