Take your time.
Follow the lean but good enough directions.
Most tech part of removal of the stock hugger is that push pin.
That %#$@@ push pin.
Bought a pair of push pin pliers from harbor frieght just for this.
Didn't use em...not enough room. These will come in plenty handy for removing bodywork from the Honda rancher which utilizes 97 of these push pins to hold the bodywork on.
Ultimately ended up using a tack claw to pry the push pin out. Put some duct tape on the swingarm so not to scratch it when prying.
Really, that push pin is the key and only thing that would prevent a stoned skunk ape from doing this mod quickly.
Be sure to install the push pin First...when installing the new hugger. You'll hear/feel a solid pop when it seats.
I didn't go nuts with the gasket supplied for preventing contact between hugger and swingarm.
This powerbronze hugger is a thick, solid piece of motorcycle bodywork. Once installed, if you notice the additional weight of this one comparied to stock..just shut up. It's all in your head.
Will protect the shock/etc from sand better than the stocker. Big for me as I have a 100yd shot from garage to street on a mix of concrete, limestone and sand.
Colors....I went with the carbon fiber look/gold screen.
Because...I did this exact thing with a powerbronze hugger on the last black streebike I had. CF wasn't my first choice then, but the black was on backorder so I went CF.
The carbon fiber look/gold screen popped Big time on That bike.
On the 2015 black GSX-S750...i think it looks good, but Black/gold would probably pop better.
