I'm in need of a little advice about adjusting the stock mirrors if anyone out there can help? My left mirror works perfectly after grabbing the mirror and adjusting it as desired. However the right one points too far to the right even after grabbing the mirror and adjusting it towards myself as far as it would go. It's seems when it was put together the entire mirror assembly wasn't set correctly. I tried loosening the nut towards the top of the mirror which allowed me to adjust the mirror up and down but that didn't resolve the problem. Now there is about a 2 inch rubber piece towards the bottom of the mirror stem, just to the left of the kill switch, that I moved up to reveal what looks like something that could be loosened allowing the entire stem to be twisted inwards, but wanted some advice before I started wrenching on those parts. Any help would be appreciated, mechanically un-inclined here myself.

Check out this other thread gsxs.org/thread/238/adjusting-stock-mirrorsThe mirror will loosen in 2 points. Loosening the jam nut at the base will allow for swinging it forward or back. Adjusting the nut towards the top will allow you some fine tuning on the angle.

Thanks very much for the info and the link. So did you have to get the tool Stamp mentioned in the link you provided or will a generic wrench do the trick?

For the jam nut at the base you are going to want a line wrench. I used a regular wrench for the pitch adjustment nut closer to the mirror. Good luck, its a pain to get them pointed right unless you are at speed.

Grab some bar end mirrors. Threw some on mine and it looks fantastic. Much better than staring at my shoulders.
