Hey everyone, I have been looking around for a descent handle bar cell phone holder. I hate it when I'm going somewhere new and get lost and have to pull over and look at the gps all over again. So I wanted to get a cell phone holder for our style handle bars. But I have been told different ones are not reliable at certain speeds. Anyone have one? what brand and any issues? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I prefer navigation over my Bluetooth in my helmet. That way my phone sits in my coat, nice and safe.

Right now I'm doing Nav over Bluetooth to my Sena SMH-5 but I wouldn't mind having a visual map to look and scroll through while I'm parked without having to go digging through my pockets. Right now, I don't have the big bug-antenna style mirrors on my bike. I'm using a bar end mirror which suits me fine. So with a big open hole I'm considering a ram mount mirror ball and a 6" extension with a strong holder. You can browse through RAM Mounts website to see if you can figure out a solution that works for you. They aren't terribly expensive, but it adds up pretty fast.

You could pick up the tank bag, it has a map pocket. I just don't trust the clamps. I've heard from another member, pkline0541, that ram makes a nice one. He has it in his videos.

I'm not sold on tank bags, if I were to go a bag route I'd probably do panniers. But I'm not quite ready to turn this into a sport tourer just yet

RAM finger mount. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkefpLJJ8tY I've been using this for the last 3 years. I used one of the extra fingers insted vof the top support for extra clamping, but retained the bottom support. I've had no issues with it holding my phone at cruising speeds of around 110-120k/h and much faster passing vehicles(fast enough to have my bike impounded in my area). More impressively though is that it holds onto the phone when riding(and a few dirt naps) on trails with my DR650. My phone is a Rugby LTE(PRO), it's waterproof and shock resistant so there wasn't a need for an outterbox. That might make a difference with clamping, I don't know.

Awesome, thanks for the advice everyone!! I will look into the RAM mount. I have thought about bluetooth but I would like to see a map as a reference as I ride.

I put a RAM mount on mu bars & I have a 14" wind screen that keeps it all nice & safe. Use Google maps all the time. Wired in a mount that has USB power so I can keep phone charged . Works AWESOME

What does RAM not understand about low profile... Everything they sell is hugely oversized. I want my mount to be about 1/4" off my bars so I can actually see my gauges. The base and arms are all huge and although they are rugged over time with vibration and bumps the moint still droops. Has anyone come up with a low profile solution?
