just cut about 6 inches off the factory exhaust and welded a 6x3 piece of stainless steel in its place . the bike sounds amazing and feels like the it has way more power. Suzuki installed some type of filter for emissions purposes that restricts the back pressure of the headers and quiets down the exhaust sound . after removing this piece and welding in a new straight pipe the bike is a lot louder and feels more crisp like a full aftermarket exhaust. I recommend this mod to everyone. feels like a new bike.

It's not very clear where you cut the exhaust

He removed the catalytic converter, should be under the bike, right after the headers

I have considered doing this too. Glad to hear it made a positive change.

Have you had a chance to put many miles on since you cut out your cat?

I’m thinking about doing this too, currently I have just a M4 slip on which sounds great but I want to be louder. What did you do with the butterfly valve and the o2 sensor before the cat? Also did you get a tune or is the bike running fine without one.
Thanks

I deleted the O2 & pair valve and cut out the butterfly valve/ cat.
The bike is running better IMO it does have a slight flat spot in first gear so it does need to be tuned. I do have power commander 3 usb but have not found anyone that can transfer the files from the pcv to the pc3 usb. Someone here on the forum got the pc3 usb to work and if I recall he said that power commander does not support the pc3usb. So thats the issue that we are having right now. To be honest I gave the bike to my 24 yr old son and I bought a Ducati Diavel Carbon. I get on this forum because I am a moderator and to help out but my son is the one rides the bike.
