Has anyone had the availability to listen or hear both of these on a 2018 GSX S750 in person? I'm tossed up between the two and youtube videos don't do either justice i'm sure. I've had exhausts that fatigue the ears after several hours riding and i don't want that, i also leave for work at 6 a.m. and don't want to disturb the neighbors too much. But i want that deeper tone and the sound that a slip on offers without being overpowering. Any way to describe the differences?

It sounds amazing in person, though it's a little loud at 6am lol... I finally decided to put the silencer in...I didn't like it. So instead, I pulled out the silencer and cut about 1/3 of it off (shortening the silencer) and reinstalled. I find it the perfect balance now. Not sure if that helps

Not sure if that helps I appreciate the feedback, it does help but at the same time it doesn't. I'm really wondering if the M4 is that much louder and deeper than the Yoshi or if they are pretty close? In that case i would probably go with the M4 as it matches the bike better being mine is the 750z.

I was worried as well, but I think it looks very nice regardless if its not black. photos.app.goo.gl/dRknrM59Msnd5mdeA

Yeah, even though it's not black it's grown on me. Thanks for the pic.

I've tried comparing here - different_exhausts but as you've mentioned the vids don't go them justice especially with the different quality of mic's, proximity to the exhaust etc. I've had a yoshi in the past on a different bike, and without the dB killer in that was stupid loud.. like ears bleeding loud. Made the mistake of taking the DB killer out too early I think as the exhaust seemed to have expanded, and the db killer didn't fit in anymore. Maybe it's different on this bike? I'm also looking for an exhaust just loud enough to enjoy. I just want to be able to hear the bike with ear plugs in, without having to do 6k+ rpm's and visor up Is price a factor at all? Maybe you're better off getting what ever you can get a deal on? Probably a bit too pricy to grab both, or to swap with someone as our bikes seem to be somewhat rare compared to the dozens of FZ's (MT's) I see around, along with the grom army. Similarly colour - The M4 comes in black, yoshi only in silver from what a quick google shows me.

Yeah, too pricey to get both to try, The Alpha does only come in silver but if I wanted to spend $800.00 I could order the Yoshi R11 Black Magic from japan and have it shipped. slightly different shape than the Alpha but it is mostly black except for the cap where the mid pipe is.

Honestly, these bikes will sound fantastic with whichever you choose. My friends have R6, R1, Gsx-R1000, ZX10 and an SV650...I prefer the sound of mine over all of theirs lol
Has a good balance between throaty and raspy
It really sounds sweet, even more so without the silencer lol (but it's a little too loud)

If you just order the yoshimura mid-pipe for the alpha you could run any yoshimura canister you want. RS3 TRS TRC R77 R77D Alpha will fit they are all 2.25 diameter. I’m currently running the alpha mid pipe with a R77D canister. You can save money by doing it this way . You can’t use the R11 canister on the Alpha mid pipe because the R11 is metric you would need the midpipe for the R11. Yoshimura USA Exhaust are standard and the yoshimura japan exhaust are metric..

Can you really just swap cans like that though? What about the position of the mounting tab/hole on the can? It's welded on vs. using an ugly strap like the M4.

II grabbed the Alpha courtesy RAINH8R and it has the sound you're looking for. It's not loud enough to make your neighbors consider homicide, but it's loud enough that you're going to hear it clearly at all speeds. I would imagine the Alpha T sounds similar. A word of advice: don't remove the baffle until you've ran the pipe for 2k miles. Once it breaks in, the low end sound increases. This will give it that bass. The M4 is however available for cheaper and seems to be rarer than the Yoshis.
I would say find a good deal on either and grab it. You can't go wrong with either brand.

I played around with a few different slip-ons before ultimately going with the Akrapovic Megaphone. It's titanium, so it's extremely light compared to the stock exhaust. The shape/style isn't for everyone, but to my eye, it actually goes with the natural flow/lines of the bike the best. It does have a removable baffle if you're into that kind of thing, but I currently and have always ran it without the baffle because the bark it produces when you twist the throttle is what rustles my jimmies. It can be very tame when you're not really hammering on the throttle (as to not piss off neighbors) but my God, when you open it up, it's the most blissful thing I've ever heard. I specifically did not want that traditional high-whine sound - I was going for something that had more grunt/bark/low rumble at an idle kind of deal, and this did it for me and more.
A buddy of mine got the M4 the same time I picked up the Megaphone and it has a nice low note right out of the box, but it also sounds (to me) like someone stuck a full 52 count deck of cards in the bike spokes - it's almost a slapping sound than anything else. Could just be my ears, but it wasn't for me.
Don't know if this helps, but it's fun to talk about motorcycles in Wisconsin when it's 13 degrees outside! (Farenheit, for our friends across the pond.)
