G'day,
On a previous bike (2004 Kawasaki Z750) the front brakes/brake lines were "piggy backed" (lever to right caliper then to left caliper). I then had two separate SS lines made, swapped the double banjo bolt from the right caliper to the lever, swapped the single banjo bolt from the lever to the right caliper and ran two separate SS lines from the lever.
My 2017 GSX-S 750 has the same "piggy back" style front brake set up. Has anybody switched out the factory set up to run two separate front brake SS lines from the lever? Did you get the lines custom made or purchase them pre made? (The gentleman that made my first set is no longer in the business).
Thanks in advance.
Nich.

G'day Nich.
Mate, HEL do a race set up with the 2 lines straight from the master cylinder to each caliper, rather than the left one going over the front guard. I'm going to this setup myself shortly.
Wemoto in Bomaderry NSW is about the cheapest supplier I've found so far, cheaper than Ebay and HEL themselves.

Jisser,
I did a quick search on Ebay yesterday and found something along those lines. Ill do a Google search for Wemoto and get in contact with them.
Cheers.

Yer I spotted and read the post on that, some good work on that. I like to use OEM parts or similar model parts to help cut down my confusion on which part is what and after checking out Wemoto I couldn't find a listing for year or model (2017 GSX-S 750) of my bike.

After reading this post I bought 2 $9.60 steel braided lines 90cm in length switched the banjo bolt around so two lines is coming out from the master-cylinder. Even everything stock other than the steel braided lines significant amount of the sponginess has disappeared. I will be testing it more tomorrow for consistency in feel but I am very happy with the cheap upgrade only costing me total of $23.00 with new DOT 4 brake fluid.
I have a 2015 model btw which has the worse set up in brakes out of all the other models.

Gday,
Just wondering where you bought the brake lines from? Do you have a part number? Does the retailer do a line for the rear brake as well? Yer, I like utilising the factory parts for most modifications/upgrades.
Cheers for the reply Darksunshade.

They sell a shorter length which you can use on rear brake. I would just search on eBay 60cm length steel braided lines for motorcycles.
Using stock parts means everything is going to fit. I have seen people buy new banjo bolts and not verify the pitch so it ruined their part. Also saves money lol...

Tested the brakes and I am very happy with it. With the rubber hoses the more I use the more heat that goes into the lines which meant the more brakes you use the more spongy it gets.(specially with the 2015 front brake style which heat is a big issue for)
Honestly it made me faster. I can now be confident with my brakes which means nothing to be scared of when braking late and trail braking.
Thank you for this post I would have never thought of it.

I found and purchased lines similar and then when I compared them, the factory ones have 90 degree bends at the front brake reservoir and the aftermarket ones are straight at one end (reservoir end) and slightly bent at the other end (caliper end).

Mine was not 90 degree bend but it wasn't much of a problem to work with.
