Hey guys, I'm a happy owner of a 2018 GSX-S 750, took delivery of the bike in December '17 and have 5,000kms on the clock, pretty soon it will go for it's 2nd service.
There is one thing that I find very annoying and I don't know if it's an actual problem with the bike or just a consequence of the Euro IV tuning. In a nutshell the throttle is laggy, in every gear. For example, mid corner I get on the throttle and there is a noticeable lag between the time I move the grip to the time I feel it starts pushing. It does the same thing when passing, so I'm not going from a closed throttle to WOT or something like that, think going from 20% throttle to 60% throttle, twist the throttle and nothing.... nothing... go!
The reason I think it's not a defect on my bike, but emissions related, is that it is only noticeable in cold weather; if it does it in warm weather I have yet to notice it.
I've also tried riding with TC in setting 1 and it's there; haven't tried disabling TC yet.
I've also noticed that it will stall if you give it some gas, release and pull the clutch at the same time. Like an aborted start from stop, go give it some gas as I release the clutch, realize I'm not clear, let got of the throttle and pull the clutch; it dies. I can consistently recreate it. I think this is related to the start assist feature, but there might be something else going on.
Has anyone noticed something similar on the 17+ bikes?

Try adjusting the throttle cable. My '16 came with a lot of slack in the throttle and it felt a mess. As far as the clutch thing, I have no idea.

Try letting it warm up for 5 min before you start riding or until it shows the temperature ...

It's 25 miles from home to get to the interstate, by the time I get there it has had plenty of time to get up to temp.
And nope, it's not the slack in the cables. It's not that I can move the throttle without any response, I twist it, hold it there and couple seconds later it will do something... Feels like an eternity when you already missed your line. It's like an old school turbo car where you get on the throttle and pretty much nothing happens until the turbo spools up.

Oh I see.. so it's still doing that even after it's warmed up.... mines a 2015.. I've only noticed that happen on mine when it wasn't warmed up completely for a minute or 2.. only thing I could think of is maybe bad gas or something.. unless it has something to do with the throttle... I always use the 90+ ... I like the 94 the best...

I have a 2018 and I haven't experienced either of the issues you mentioned. Throttle response is pretty crisp and I haven't had the bike stall on me once yet.

Throttle slack too much. Mine was the same until I got the first service done.
