The dent is from your spool and riding with either a passenger or too low of a spring pressure. It may have "clearanced" itself enough already, but your going to want to look into it further.

Oh shit, I didn't even think about the spool/muffler issue. Mine's new, so I can't comment on the faded parts. Your muffler seems smoother than mine is though. Mine has a bit of a rough texture/finish.

I dont ride with passengers, but I did soften the rear suspension. Its definitely the spools. I hit a big pothole today and the dent is worse. Ill tighten up the rear suspension. And remove the spools until I need to use them with my rear stand.

I know this is an older post but yeah that muffler looks almost like it was wet sanded compared to mine.

Just curious, did you clean it when it was hot and the soap dried on it at one point? Did you use anything other than normal wash detergents.
