Hello people, In my intro post I talked about modifying my exhaust. And there were questions. Here is a breakdown of what I did. Purchased: -Axrapovich carbon fiber race muffler -Healtech exhaust servo eliminator
I cut out the catylitic converter (pic below) which looks incredibly restrictive and gutted the servo flapper valve in the exhaust as well as eliminated the entire servo motor and cables. I had a local fabricator weld back in a 3" piece of stainless pipe to fill in the 10" gap where the cat was. Pretty simple process just took a while to figure out how to cut what and where.
The Akrapivic muffler sounds great and gutting the cat and servo valve alone made a difference in sound and power and ofcorse weight loss.
My next project is to delete the air pump because now I get a little popping on decel out the exhaust(only a 6" fireball lol) i'll be sure and post it

I never took any sound clips but its such a drastic difference, the Akrapivic muffler is alot deeper tone than what most mufflers I've heard, Which I like.
You can delete all of the exhaust servo stuff now if you want, if you unhook the cables the flapper will spring open and stay open, but its there and I saw it as a restriction, but you can still delete the cables and servo motor which are heavy. HealTech makes an exhaust servo eliminator which fools the computer into thinking its all still there and keeps the FI light off. ESE-S02 is the part # it has to be the one for the GSR750 their website is wrong.
Well to my surprise the gsxr 750 pair valve (air pump) blocker plates fit perfectly, after all it is a gixxer motor they should work. Installed them and cleaned up the area over the head nicely. Had to leave the valve plugged in until I can get the bike tuned and have it turned off but for now no more fireballs out of the exhaust.
I've seen arrow exhaust stuff in the past and lets just say for 1g I'll pass. Until akra comes out with a header this is it for me.
Still going to do a tune but for the most part all the stupid stuff has been deleted off the bike.
I can definitely relate. You gonna reflash or just throw in a PC5? Also can you please elaborate on the other mods like the pair valve delete and the butterfly valve delete?
You can delete the exhaust servo (butterfly valve) if you inhook the cables it will stay sprung open but its still in the exhaust so I cut mine out. As far as deleting the electronic side of the valve, HealTech makes a servo eliminator for our bike part # ESE-S02. It gets rid of the big motor and cables. If you live in cold climate the motor will sound different like a slight missfire until its warm but then its fine.
As for the pair valves they are Reed valves and a small pump that pull air from the intake and pump into the exhaust to cool the gasses entering the catalytic converter or emissions. Since I deleted my whole cat I was getting wicket fireballs out of the exhaust on hard deceleration. Deleting the valves and pump fixed the fireball problem bit I need to tune out the FI light.
I will be doing a tune here very soon I will report my results.
$20 haha. I just paid my neighbor who has a fab shop to put a 10" long piece of 3" stainless pipe in where the cat was, and I drilled and cut out the exhaust valve and he welded that up too.
A welding shop could do it for around $100 or so, maybe less but I'm sure some shops won't want to mess with a cat because technically it's illegal. I cut out everything I wanted gone and had him just weld it back together.
