The catalyst is in the wider section of pipe under the bike just past the O2 sensor before the exhaust valve.

With o2 eliminator plug in So just removing the cable that's hooked into the cat will disable it and then just tricking o2 sensor with the o2 eliminator should open the exhaust up ... it's just a tiny bit heavier with the cat on , then if you do did full titanium exhaust Removing the cat is to increase air flow not just weight. I'd like to see some before and after pics of someone that has actually done it. With what pipe they used, where they got it and how much is cost for the fab work / welding. You don't cover the hole in the 02 bung with heat tape, they make plugs for it, you can buy one on ebay for a few bucks or get a bolt from a hardware store.

The fi light being on will cause no problem what so ever, it's just telling you that there is a problem with the servo, but you already knew that.
