How often should we do this? I'm pushing 5k miles in 6 months I've tightened the chain but didn't grease. Also what grease is best?

Also anytime the bike sits out in rain or you get excessive water on the chain when you're cleaning it. I use Maxima Chain Wax and it seems to keep the chain in good shape even after being rained on.

You should service your chain every 500-1000 miles depending on your riding environment. example lot of rain, dusty dirty roads gravel roads etc. service more often. clean with kerosene and use a chain wax. I will post the video soon.

I tend to go closer to 1k for cleanings as I only ride a couple times a week and don't ride in the rain. But yeah 5k is a little too far, lol.

I use a grunge brush to clean it and follow up with motor oil. I have a gravel driveway and she's parked in dusty areas often, so I clean it regularly. I tension it when necessary.

Important stuff, which I’m rubbish at. Bought a Scottoiler years back which I keep moving from bike to bike when I replace, works wonders for those as forgetful as me.

Finally had my new tires (pilot power 3's) installed, but the weather is terrible here right now. Looking forward to breaking them in once I can. Picked up some chain wax too. Nice stuff!

My bike is my daily. I live in South West Florida so there's great weather 5 days out of the week. I got my bike new 14 months ago and now have just over 22,000 miles on it. I'm on the 8th rear tire, 4th front and new chain and sprockets. I lube my chain every other day and clean it on the weekends.
