That isn't really necessary as long as you warm your tires up by riding a couple miles before hitting corners. These bikes are very easy to push to the very edge on stock tires. As long as you are in a proper position just trust the bike it will take care of you.

Just ride your bike normal. If you are worried how they look then up your game. I have taken fresh tires out and had no issues with slippage right to the edge. Think about what he is saying in the video. If you have not had it leaned over that far wtf would you do it in a panic. Just ride your bike. This guy advice is BS. The angle you have to lean over to would make you panic on its own if you have never been over that far. On the street you will not over ride your traction, but you may over ride your skill. Take the time and do a track day. It will change your life and will help keep you alive on the street!!!!

lol I almost did when i first read it/saw it. Then i thought i can't wait to read everyone's comments lol . My comment was not to be taken as any sort of attack or insult. I had a guy point out I had more chicken strip then him. What he saw was my tire full used at the track and heat cycled so when I was back on the street it smooths out the melted rubber. Him not knowing that made him a noob, him calling my skill based on tire srips made him a noob. My buddy that is pro fast at the track has 1.5 inch strips on his street bike. He says "Its not worth proving anything, I know I am fast and will never push over 60% on the road" Srubbing in your tires only take 1-2 laps on a 2 min loop. On the street done even worry you will not have the G forces high enough to brake loose unless you whisky throttle mid corner with TC off...

Also, folks can reduce their 'chicken strips' with poor body position as well. They may lean their bike way over, but not turn as fast as someone who uses proper body position. By reducing their contact patch, they also strongly increase the risk of lowsiding. It's strange that delboy would demonstrate manually scrubbing the tire on a Harley. Is there a Harley out there that could utilize the whole tire without scraping body parts?

The purpose of leaning off is to keep the bike more upright. When I track in the rain I am WAY of the bike and its almost straight up. In the dry I only hang off a bit in the same turns. So I agree some lean like motocross and not street

I've been a little nervous riding this bike to tell you all the truth, this is my first bike back on the road since 2006. I had an 06 GSXR750 back then and I was cut off when someone crossed the lane in front of me doing about 100km/h, slid off the bike and was hit by the car behind me. All I remember was the slow motion of watching my bike and sparks just slide and then catch and flip and then nothing lol. I know I should have got back on as soon as I was healed up but it was frickin scary and fucked me up for a little bit, lol. A few of my friends have pointed out that I have some strips and I was like chicken what? So I just did some research and everything that you guys are saying comes up everywhere but so do the squids commenting too. I'm just glad to hear it from guys who actually ride the bike like the way you do, just having someone use this bike on the track is a huge benefit to us other riders on here because you are pushing the bike to its limits. I just have flashbacks when I lean in sometimes too tight of going down, I mean I lean, I shift my weight and I giver, but I can't see myself getting down any further than I do even if I wasn't still trying to push my comfort level. I'm glad I got this bike, I almost went with the FZ09 but I love Suzuki. Thanks again for all the info everyone has shared, its priceless.

There may be light hearted heckling, but no one will ever bash anybody for something that they say or post. It's not that kind of forum. We are all people who ride, mod, and love bikes, whether it's these or others.

Ha! I just read my post again, my bad If anybody thought I was being strict by the way I wrote it. I've been working 18hr days since irma decided to be a punk. I was just trying to convey the "keep smiling" and joking attitude as always, but may have failed. 😂

I don't blame you for riding cautiously chaos especially after taking a nasty spill. I don't know if I'd get back on at all if that happened to me. Leaning the bike just for the sake of leaning is the same as sticking your knee out just to scrape up some sliders. Ride your own ride, it's your life not your friends'

I had my bike over 60deg(Tracked with RaceChrono Pro) this past weekend at the track. Hit the peg feeler and ground off a 1/2 inch and almost shit myself thinking it was my foot. These bikes are very capable of leaning over. But on the street I bet I never go past 30deg. Guys dragging knees on the street are asking for it(most say they can but really dont). Anyone calling out chicken strips on a road use bike really needs to go to the track and find out how little skill they really have... Just ignore and ride your own pace. If you ride a motorcycle you NEED to hit up a track, ride your own pace and see how capable these or any bike really is.

Agree with ethereal.. Ride at your own pace. Don't try to keep up with somebody if you are not comfortable. I would rather then say hey where did you go back there? then be laying in a ditch and go to the hospital couse you target fixated or just were out of control and scared nervous any of those answers would do. Ride at your own pace and be safe. Take it to a track to see what it can do, that way you don't put any ones lives in danger and there is a safety crew already on scene for worst case scenario.
