Last week Suzuki had a press launch for the second generation of GSXS750 in Spain. Weather was crap and many motorcycle journalists were there and you know the deal...
Anyway, 2 first ride reviews are published so far and after reading them they both essentially say the same thing, where I started wondering if they wrote the reviews together sitting at the same table.
Basically, they say nothing bad about the bike but they say nothing good either, like there is nothing wrong with it, it's better than than first generation in every way but there is nothing special about it! Now that might be true but, when they started glorifying the FZ09 and the Street Triple mentioning their positives (which are also great bikes IMO) I start wondering why they don't even mention specific positives/negatives about the GSX750?!! They didn't even mention TC, RPM Assist, Brake or suspension performance or even the engine performance of GSXS750, but they do mention enhanced suspension of FZ09 and other things!
What are your thoughts? What do you think about such reviews and how far would you go trusting reviews these days?

how can anyone judge a bike with one ride out anyway! i all ways go with riders reviews over magazine reviews as they have more right to judge the bikes and the gsr gsx-s gets positive results rights through the board from long term riders owners of these bikes..the best one and honest review i have come across is this guy dodge rider in the usa..he knows what he is talking about..i know its not the new gsx-s but its ,near enough www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nt-vR6RKRwkwww.youtube.com/watch?v=h5-5wiiihc0

I have found a few more reviews on YouTube but sadly they are in German or Italian and I speak neither lol

Before I bought my bike, I went through as many reviews as possible. I had known about the gsr750 so that made it pretty easy to find a bunch. I came away from that, hating bike reviews. Some people like there soups sweet, some don't.
I am a suzuki guy, have been since I was a kid. Nothing against all the other bikes it there. With that being said I know, out of the gate, I would be critical of other makes during a review.
The newer model is great, and in many ways better than my older model. It also has a bunch of features I originally didn't want. So for me I'm glad I bought when I did. I guess what I'm getting at is, go with your gut. If it seems one sided, the way they are reviewing it, maybe it is.

Chipwood, I agree Dodge does a good job about not being biased to one bike or manufacturer to the other. He also does a pretty good job reviewing bikes. However when i was looking at reviews on our bike i came across "chase on two wheels" review of our bike. He basically compared it to the fz-07. Then goes on about how the fz 07 is much more torquey and more powerful and more fun than ours. Really our bike has roughly 40 more h.p. and weighs close to the same. I have a buddy that has a fz-07 and my bike will smoke his through every gear. it's not even close. Sorry just had to get that off my chest.
On a side note is everyone is different and everyone has their own opinions, and all ride different. If everyone liked the same thing, this world would be a very boring place.

Then again, you see many reviews comparing it to the FZ09, I just don't get it lol. I wonder if the shorten final gear will have any effect on the acceleration as claimed, because torque figures are almost the same

You are right, and my gut feeling is telling me to get it as soon as it's on the show floor, luckily by then my wallet should be thicker lol
